Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has described the direct primary system as the most credible and inclusive form of election within political parties.
The governor stated this shortly after participating in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election alongside his wife at Enyanwu-Igwe Agbaja Ward II, held at Community Primary School, Amechara, Oferekpe Agbaja in Izzi Local Government Area of the state.
Speaking with journalists after the exercise, Nwifuru commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Working Committee, and members of the Ebonyi State APC Working Committee for their continued support and cooperation, which he said have contributed immensely to the growth and stability of the party in the state.
He assured party faithful and residents that his administration would remain committed to delivering meaningful development projects across the state.
The governor also used the occasion to highlight the achievements of his administration, noting that they align with his “People’s Charter of Needs” manifesto aimed at improving the welfare of Ebonyi people.
Nwifuru, who emerged unopposed in the governorship primary, polled 1,297 votes to secure the APC ticket for the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
