The member representing Njaba State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ozioma Worship Ebonine, popularly known as Ezengwori, has empowered his constituents with various economic support items as part of his commitment to grassroots development.

The empowerment programme, which took place on January 3, 2026, featured the distribution of five mini buses, 15 motorcycles, over 300 sewing machines, grinding machines, foo-foo pounding machines, hair-dressing equipment, as well as over 600 bags of 50kg rice.

Described by many as the first of its kind in the political history of Njaba, the event attracted key stakeholders from across the State. Notable among them were Dr. Austin Agbahiwe, member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, and Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie, Executive Chairman of Njaba Local Government Area, alongside other political leaders and community stakeholders.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Hon. Ebonine said the empowerment initiative was a fulfillment of his campaign promises to the people of Njaba.

“I made a vow to always bring the dividends of democracy back to my people if elected, and today’s empowerment is part of that promise,” he said.

The lawmaker expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, whose support, he noted, made the programme a success.

Reacting to the initiative, Hon. Barr. Emenike Uzor commended Hon. Ebonine for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. He urged other public office holders to emulate the Njaba lawmaker by prioritizing people-oriented projects.

The empowerment programme was widely applauded by beneficiaries and residents, many of whom described it as a significant boost to economic self-reliance and community development in Njaba.
