Emotions ran high at Ebia Unuhu in Ebonyi State as the Commissioner for Finance, Professor Leonard Chukwuma Uguru, presented a newly built bungalow to his personal assistant, Mr. Henry Nwambam, in appreciation of loyalty and dedicated service.

The touching moment saw Nwambam kneel in gratitude as he received the keys to the house, a gesture that drew admiration from community members and guests who described it as leadership with a human face.

The house, personally built by Professor Uguru, was handed over to Nwambam, who has served as his aide for over two and a half years.

In a brief homily, a Catholic priest of the Immaculate Conception Parish, Nkwegu, Reverend Father Jude Agama, urged young people to remain faithful, humble, and hardworking in their places of service, noting that diligence is always rewarded in due time.

Speaking at the event, Professor Uguru said the house was meant to help his aide begin a stable and independent life. He explained that Nwambam, who lost his father, had been living with his mother in the village and deserved support that would enhance his welfare and productivity.

According to the commissioner, the gesture would enable his aide to live closer to town, work more effectively, and prepare for family life.

Professor Uguru also disclosed that similar support is being extended to other aides, stressing that leadership should be about lifting others and creating opportunities for growth.

The gesture has continued to attract widespread praise, further reinforcing Professor Uguru’s image as a leader committed to empowering people and improving lives.
