The Ikwo Elite Progressive Union has disbursed a total of sixty million naira as education grants to indigent students from Ikwo Noyo clan in Ebonyi State, in a move aimed at boosting human capital development through education.
The Union, made up of accomplished sons of Ikwo Noyo from various professional backgrounds, said the intervention was designed to ease the financial burden on students, especially in view of the country’s current economic challenges.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the National President of the Union and Managing Director of CSagas Group of Companies Nigeria Limited, Dr. Christian Asaganwali, said the initiative was targeted at students who are determined to pursue their education but are limited by financial constraints. He urged the beneficiaries to remain focused and purposeful, stressing that education remains a key driver of personal and community development.
Also speaking, the Member representing Ikwo/Ezza Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, charged the students to take their studies seriously and strive for excellence in order to compete favorably with their peers nationally and internationally. He described the grant as both an opportunity and a responsibility to make Ikwo and Ebonyi State proud.
Other leaders of the Union, including Chief Chibueze Ikepi and Mr. Azubuike Akam, said the support was deliberately structured to assist students facing genuine financial hardship.
The beneficiaries, numbering forty in this first batch, expressed gratitude to the Union, describing the gesture as timely and encouraging.
The Ikwo Elite Progressive Union has assured that the education support scheme will be sustained and expanded in the future, as part of efforts to build a stronger and more prosperous Ikwo Noyo clan through education.
