A socio-cultural organization knw phase of leadership and vision following a landmark Investiture and Inauguration Ceremony held on April 18, 2026, at Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State.

The well-attended event brought together a distinguished audience of political leaders, traditional rulers, clergy, and prominent sons and daughters of Orlu, including members of the diaspora. The gathering underscored the growing influence of Orluzurumee as a unifying platform for development and cultural cohesion in Orlu Zone.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of honours on selected Patrons and Matrons, recognized for their contributions to community development and public service. The inauguration of Special Committee Chairmen and Directorate Heads also marked a significant step toward strengthening the organization’s institutional capacity and strategic direction.

Adding an important international and diaspora dimension to the event was the presence of Dr. Chinyere Daisy Anyakudo, MD, CMD, CFA, Orluzurumee Director, Directorate of Health & Social Welfare, who flew in from the United States of America to witness the historic programme. In her remarks, she commended the growing synergy being fostered by Orluzurumee, describing it as a critical catalyst for advancing the collective aspirations of Orlu people. She further disclosed that the Orlu Regional Assembly (ORA), USA, is poised to collaborate closely with the apex socio-cultural body, expressing confidence that such transnational partnership would yield meaningful impact and accelerate development across the zone.

The event reached a high point with the arrival of Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, Chief of Staff, Government House, Owerri, who stood in for the Special Guest of Honour, Governor Hope Uzodinma, whose presence underscored the growing influence and relevance of Orluzurumee as a unifying platform.

The presence of distinguished traditional rulers infused the ceremony with rich cultural depth. Leading the royal delegation was His Royal Majesty, E. C. Okeke, Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, whose royal blessings reinforced the legitimacy and cultural grounding of the organization’s mission.

Spiritual solemnity was equally evident, as respected clerics, including Bishop Benjamin Chinedum Okeke, offered prayers and exhortations, calling for unity, righteousness and purposeful leadership among the people.

In his keynote remarks, the President General of Orluzurumee, Rt. Hon. Ugochukwu Nzekwe, described the occasion as “a bold step in redefining leadership and deepening our collective resolve to build a prosperous and united Orlu.” He emphasized that those honoured and inaugurated were not only symbols of excellence but also bearers of responsibility in advancing the organization’s developmental agenda.

“This is more than a ceremony—it is a movement,” he declared. “A movement anchored on unity, driven by vision and sustained by the commitment of our people both at home and in the diaspora.”

The event seamlessly blended formal proceedings with vibrant music, dance and symbolic cultural expressions that showcased the rich heritage of the Orlu people, leaving attendees both inspired and invigorated.
