By Kelechi Ugo
The Community Engagement Aide to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Hon. Paulinus Nwanchor, has reaffirmed the State Government’s commitment to inclusive governance and active citizen participation at the grassroots level.
Hon. Nwanchor made this known on Thursday, April 23, 2026, during a State-Level Roundtable Dialogue organized by the Community Outreach and Public Empowerment Foundation (COPEF).
The event brought together community leaders, political party representatives, civil society actors, and top government functionaries to deliberate on strengthening grassroots governance.
The dialogue focused on enhancing citizens’ engagement in governance, promoting the inclusion of women and youths in decision-making processes, and improving civil awareness, accountability, and community-driven action.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Nwanchor emphasized the readiness of the Ebonyi State Government to partner with credible and registered non-governmental organizations that align with its development agenda. He noted that such collaborations are vital to deepening democratic values and expanding governance to rural communities.
He further highlighted the importance of synergy between government and non-state actors, stressing that effective collaboration remains key to delivering the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
According to him, the government’s policies—anchored on its development blueprint—are designed to foster inclusiveness, transparency, and sustainable community development across the State.
The roundtable concluded with a renewed call for stronger partnerships among stakeholders to ensure that governance becomes more participatory, responsive, and impactful for all citizens, particularly at the community level.
