The Minister of Works, Sen. David Umahi, has declared that he remains focused on his official duties despite allegations of a N280 million campaign debt and sexual harassment levelled against him by Mrs. Tracy Ohiri.

Umahi stated this at the weekend in Awka, Anambra State, while reacting to the claims. He maintained that the matter is already before a competent court of law and insisted that anyone making allegations must be prepared to prove them.

According to him, he would not be distracted by what he described as social media attacks, stressing that his primary concern is delivering on his mandate.

“If you insult me on social media, if you are paid to insult me, I will not shut my mouth. I am not distracted,” he said.

Describing himself as “David who is not afraid of war,” the minister noted that he has faced and overcome several challenges in public service. He added that attempts by some individuals to seek an out-of-court settlement were unnecessary since the matter is already being handled legally.

He emphasized that allegations must be substantiated in court, stating that public commentary, whether praise or criticism, would not derail his commitment to duty.

Umahi further highlighted his track record in public office, recalling his tenure as party chairman, deputy governor and two-term governor of Ebonyi State. He said no individual had accused him of harassment or financial indebtedness throughout his years in leadership.

“I was deputy governor and governor for eight years, and I delivered extensively on infrastructure. Nobody can say I owe him or her, unless out of mischief,” he said.

The minister reiterated that his focus remains on ongoing infrastructure projects across the country, noting that reforms in the contracting system have brought resistance from certain quarters.

He assured Nigerians that he would not be deterred, vowing to continue serving in line with the expectations of the people and the administration of President Bola
