Ngor-Okpala Emerges Major Beneficiary of Uzodimma’s Administration,says Onuegbu

The people of Ngor-Okpala Council Area have been described as major beneficiaries of the present administration in Imo State led by Governor Hope Uzodimma,following the official flag-off of a major road reconstruction project in the area.
The Imo State Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning,, Barr. Enyinna Onuegbu made the assertion on Tuesday during the ceremony marking the commencement of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Ihitte–Umuakabia–Umuneke–Ngor-Okpala LGA Headquarters Road.
Onuegbu stated that the event underscores Governor Uzodimma’s commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and delivering sustainable development across the state.
“Today’s event is evidence that His Excellency keeps his promises. We are proud of the developmental strides recorded under his administration,” he said.
The Commissioner disclosed that the project is being executed by the (NDDC) and awarded to Roudo Nigeria Ltd.
He further highlighted that Ngor-Okpala has recorded significant political representation under the current administration, noting that four commissioners from the local government serve in the State Executive Council under the governor’s 3R (Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery) agenda.
Also speaking at the event, Ngor-Okpala APC Apex Leader,Okenze Sylvester Obinna commended the governor’s inclusive development strategy, describing him as a leader committed to equitable distribution of projects across the state.
The Executive Chairman of Ngor-Okpala LGA, Mrs. Chika Ibekwe, assured contractors of adequate security to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted execution of the project.
In his remarks during the site handover, the State Director of the NDDC described the emergency rehabilitation of the Umuneke–Umueme Ochicha Obike (Lot 1 & Lot 3) Road Project as a critical milestone in enhancing mobility and socio-economic development in the area.
He emphasized that improved road infrastructure would facilitate access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities and other essential services.
“This project is not just about construction; it is an investment in the future of this community. When completed, it will reduce travel time, improve safety, and stimulate business growth,” he said.
The Director also commended the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, for prioritizing the intervention. He urged the contractors to adhere strictly to quality standards, safety regulations and project timelines, while calling on residents to protect the project as a shared community asset.
For his part, Engr. Henry Iyoha, Manager of Roudo Nigeria Limited, assured stakeholders that the rehabilitation would be completed within four months.
Upon completion, the road is expected to significantly improve access to the Ngor-Okpala Local Government Headquarters and adjoining communities, enhance mobility, stimulate commercial activities and improve the overall quality of life for residents.
The project adds to a growing list of infrastructural interventions credited to the Uzodimma administration in Imo State, reinforcing ongoing efforts to deepen development at the grassroots levels.
