At the party secretariat, he was formally received by members of the APC state executive council, led by the state chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha.

Speaking to journalists after picking the form, Osbourne Umahi expressed gratitude to the people of Ohaozara for nominating and supporting him to vie for the position. He assured them that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
Outlining his vision, Umahi said his administration would prioritise youth empowerment, noting that young people remain critical to sustainable development at the grassroots.
