Mbaise's Rising Star: Precious Oku Shines as Ada Mbaise USA 2026.

In a spectacular start to 2026, Precious Chinemerem Oku, a 23-year-old Mbaise-born American, has been crowned Ada Mbaise USA. The event, held on 01/02/2026, in Omukwu Onicha Ezinihitte Mbaise, drew thousands of people, celebrating Oku's commitment to uplifting her roots.
As part of her pet project, Oku established a foundation aimed at empowering rural communities in Nigeria, focusing on education and youth empowerment. She'll serve a three-year tenure as Ada Mbaise USA, encouraging community support and emphasizing that opportunities abound for Nigerian youths through education.
A Sociology graduate from American University, Oku shared her experience as an Igbo daughter raised in New York, crediting her Mbaise parents for instilling deep moral and cultural values. She returns home annually to relish Mbaise culture and festivities, encouraging young people to seek a better society.
Oku's vision is to encourage and assist young people in their educational pursuit, stating that education remains the pathway to greatness. She notes Nigeria's abundance of human and natural resources but suffers from leadership, appealing for a new introspection amongst young people.
Highlights of the event included distributing educational materials to local schools and presenting ₦100,000 to each school through Town Union Leaderships. Cultural displays added to the celebration, showcasing Mbaise's rich heritage.
