The Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu, Prof. Okey Reuben Okechukwu, has been nominated for the Human Development Award by Master 105.9 FM in its Personality of the Year 2025 category.
The nomination, announced by the management of the radio station, recognizes Prof. Okechukwu’s outstanding contributions to human capital development, community service, and educational advancement within and beyond Ebonyi State.
Prof. Okechukwu, described by many as a tribalizer whose humanitarian initiatives cut across ethnic and community lines, has continued to champion programmes that uplift vulnerable groups and promote educational growth in rural areas.
As part of the award process, the educationist is expected to feature in a live broadcast on Master 105.9 FM between December 1 and 10, 2025, where he will share insights into his journey, achievements, and vision for human development in Nigeria.
The Provost, who has received numerous recognitions in the past for his impact in human development and educational reforms, said the latest nomination came to him as both a “challenge and motivation” to deepen his service to humanity.
He noted that leadership is measured by the lives touched and communities transformed, stressing that the award reinforces his commitment to building institutions that empower young people with relevant skills.
Prof. Okechukwu expressed appreciation to Master 105.9 FM for considering him worthy of the honour, describing the radio station as a platform that has consistently promoted excellence and celebrated individuals making meaningful contributions to society.
He assured stakeholders that he will continue to leverage his office to foster academic innovation, expand access to technical education, and support initiatives that enhance the welfare and development of the people.
