In a renewed effort to strengthen the educational sector and ease the burden on parents in South-East Nigeria, the Collins Onyeaji Foundation has continued its widely celebrated “Back to School Project,” visiting selected public primary schools across Orlu, Orsu and Owerri zones.

The latest phase of the outreach brought excitement to pupils, teachers and community members as the Foundation distributed school bags and other essential learning materials to hundreds of children.

At Ogada Community Primary School, Atta Ikeduru LGA, the Foundation’s team was received by a jubilant crowd of pupils, teachers and villagers who had eagerly anticipated the humanitarian visit.

The Head Teacher, Mrs. Maria Opara, expressed profound gratitude, describing the gesture as a huge relief for parents struggling to provide basic school materials. She prayed for divine protection and continuous replenishment upon the Foundation.

A community member, visibly moved by the visit, described the intervention as “the first of its kind in Ogada Community,” offering prayers for the Foundation’s benefactor.

The excitement continued at Ezioha Community Primary School, Abara Ihu Okporo, where pupils sang and danced as they received their school kits. Head Teacher Mrs. Lita Obiribi praised the Foundation for its exceptional love towards the pupils, noting that the gifts had made the yuletide come early for the children. She prayed for God’s favour upon the Foundation.

At Central School 2, Abara Okporo, the atmosphere was equally electric. Head Teacher Mrs. Regina Okorie revealed that since the “Back to School Project” gained public attention, her school had prayed earnestly to be included. She described their eventual selection as answered prayers and assured that the donated materials would be used judiciously.

A parent, who preferred anonymity, applauded the Foundation for easing the financial burden on families during the festive season. She prayed for God’s presence to continually guide the Foundation’s activities.

The project also extended to Peoples Primary School, Ubahaeze Awo-Idemili and Central Primary School, Awo-Idemili, marking the conclusion of the third phase of the outreach held between 27th and 28th November 2025.

Head Teacher of Peoples Primary School, Mrs. A.E. Okani, broke into songs of praise while describing the gesture as proof of the Foundation’s empathetic leadership. She emphasized that the impact would resonate through subsequent academic terms.

At Central Primary School, Head Teacher Mrs. P.N. Igboanusi expressed delight that her school was chosen, noting that she had followed the project’s success in earlier locations. She called for stronger collaboration with the Foundation in the area of early childhood education, highlighting the importance of a strong educational foundation for societal advancement.

So far, the Collins Onyeaji Foundation’s “Back to School Project” has reached 20 primary schools across Oru East, Orsu, Orlu and Ikeduru LGAs, with plans underway to introduce two major complementary initiatives:

School Renovation and Equipping Project – aimed at transforming dilapidated learning environments into safe, conducive spaces.

“Kit a Child Project” – through which over 10,000 pairs of shoes will be distributed to pupils across the region.

The Foundation remains committed to improving access to quality basic education, particularly in rural communities across the 586 primary schools in the 95 LGAs of South-East Nigeria (Imo, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi and Enugu States).

Each visit, each grateful smile, and each gifted school bag reflect a profound truth: small acts of kindness can create ripples of change that transform communities.
