ONUIMO TRADITIONAL RULERS ENDORSE HON. CHIEF JAMES UBA ESILE FOR HIGHER POLITICAL RESPONSIBILITY AHEAD OF 2027
By Kelechi Ugo
There is an English adage that says, “The reward for a job well done is more work.” In Igbo traditional philosophy, a man who kills a lion with his bare hands earns the revered title Ogbuagu—a symbol of rare bravery, excellence, and proven capacity. These expressions aptly reflect the growing public sentiment surrounding the lawmaker representing Onuimo State Constituency at the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief James Uba Esile, popularly known as “Fresh Air.”
The political rise of Hon. Esile did not come as a surprise to keen observers of Imo State politics who have long followed his steady progression, grassroots appeal, and deep understanding of the state’s political dynamics. His emergence was widely viewed as the culmination of years of preparation, consistency, and service-driven leadership.
Since assuming office, the Umucheke-Okwe–born legislator has distinguished himself through effective representation, impactful oversight functions, and a people-centred approach to governance. His tenure has been marked by responsiveness to constituent needs and an unwavering commitment to inclusive development.
From the onset, Hon. Esile aligned his legislative agenda with the development vision of the Imo State Governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Dr. Hope Uzodimma, CON. This alignment has translated into active support for policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare, infrastructure, and socioeconomic conditions of Onuimo constituents.
It is against this backdrop of tested leadership, visible performance, and growing public confidence that traditional rulers in Onuimo have endorsed Hon. Chief James Uba Esile for higher political responsibility ahead of the 2027 general elections—an endorsement that underscores trust, continuity, and a shared vision for sustainable development.
