The Charles Orie Foundation, in furtherance of its commitment to social justice, prison reform, and community welfare, paid a humanitarian visit to the Imo State Prisons and Correctional Centre, Owerri, on December 19, 2025.

The visit was aimed at assessing the living conditions of inmates, engaging prison authorities, and identifying areas where the Foundation could provide meaningful intervention. During the visit, the Founder of the Foundation, Chief Charles Orie, held discussions with officials of the Correctional Centre and reviewed the cases of inmates who were eligible for release.

Following these engagements, the Foundation facilitated the release of several inmates who had either completed their sentences or were legally qualified for freedom. Notably, the Foundation also settled outstanding court fines, which directly led to the release of seven inmates—six men and one woman.

In addition to legal support, the Charles Orie Foundation donated essential relief materials to the inmates, including food items, toiletries, sanitary materials, and other basic necessities. These donations were warmly received by both inmates and prison officials.

The Imo State Controller of Correctional Services, Prince Udoka Chinaka, expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for its timely intervention and support, describing the gesture as a significant contribution to inmate welfare and rehabilitation.

The Charles Orie Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to promoting prison reforms, advocating for the rights of marginalized and vulnerable groups, and making a lasting positive impact on society through compassionate service and justice-driven initiatives.
