The Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli Local Government Area, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo (JP), has approved a total of ₦120 million for constituency projects across the Local Government, with ₦10 million allocated to each of the twelve (12) councillors.
The approval, aimed at accelerating grassroots development, is designed to ensure that every ward in Mbaitoli Local Government Area benefits directly from people-oriented projects tailored to address specific community needs.
According to the Chairman, the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, equitable distribution of resources, and effective representation at the ward level. By empowering councillors to identify and execute constituency-based projects, the council seeks to strengthen participatory governance and deepen the dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
The constituency projects are expected to focus on critical areas of need within the wards and will complement the broader development agenda of the Mbaitoli Local Government Council, in alignment with the development vision of the Imo State Government.
Stakeholders and residents across the LGA have welcomed the move, describing it as a strategic step toward sustainable community development and improved service delivery.
