Mary Nnoromele Laid to Rest — Fr. Njoku Urges Christians to Live Christ-like Lives

The remains of the late Lolo Mary Nnoromele were laid to rest recently at her husband’s country home in Lagwa Okwuato, Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, amidst tributes, prayers, and calls for Christians to emulate Christ in their daily lives.
Delivering the homily during the funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Lagwa Okwuato, the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Pascal Njoku, admonished Christians to live in peace, love, and harmony, describing these virtues as the hallmarks of true discipleship.
Fr. Njoku emphasized the importance of compassion, constant prayer, and readiness for the inevitability of death. He urged parents to love their children equally and to strive to leave behind good legacies worthy of emulation.
He was assisted at the Eucharistic celebration by Rev. Fr. Chukwuemeka Iheme, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Redemption Housing Estate, Obinze, and Rev. Fr. Augustine Ukawuba, the Diocesan Administrator.
The cleric prayed for God’s comfort upon the bereaved family and for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late matriarch.
Speaking at the family’s Mater Amabilis country home, the second son of the deceased, Chief Sir Nnaemeka Nnoromele, KSJI (Akajimba Lagwa), expressed profound gratitude to all who supported the family during their period of mourning. He prayed for divine blessings and safe journeys for all guests.
Late Lolo Mary Nnoromele is survived by nine children, several grandchildren, and daughters-in-law, including Chief Sir Nnaemeka Nnoromele, KSJI, and His Worship, Chief Lady Chinyere Nnoromele.
The burial ceremony drew a distinguished crowd from all walks of life. Among the dignitaries in attendance were Sir Martins Ejiogu, Prof. Sir Fab Ukozor, Sir & Lady B. U. Onwu, KSJI, Barr. Lady Ugochi Nnanna-Okoro (former Commissioner and former Head of Service), Magistrates of the Imo State Judiciary, as well as Chairmen and Members of Customary Courts.
Also present were Sir Ejike Nwokoro, KSJI, Worthy President of the Knights of St. John International, Commandery 1032 St. Benignus Ihitte Isi Mbieri, members of Commanderies 1032 and 655 Aladinma, Sir Peter Azoro, KSJI, and Dr. Sir Steve Ihekuna, KSJI, President of the “This Is the Message” Model of the Catholic Lectors Association of Nigeria (CLAN), Archdiocese Chapter.
Lolo Mary Nnoromele will be remembered for her devout faith, motherly love, and enduring legacy of service to God and humanity.
