The Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Isu, Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Professor Okey Reuben Okechukwu, has cautioned newly admitted students to steer clear of all forms of social vices as the institution held its third matriculation ceremony.

Addressing staff, students, parents, and invited guests, Prof. Okechukwu reiterated the college’s zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, cultism, hooliganism, indecent dressing, prostitution, destruction of school property, stealing, and other acts of indiscipline.
He emphasized that any student found engaging in such misconduct risks outright expulsion, while staff members involved in similar offences may face dismissal.

According to the Provost, the college’s mission to produce disciplined, knowledgeable, and technically competent graduates can only be achieved in an environment free of unethical behaviour.

In a major welfare boost, Prof. Okechukwu announced the approval of free hostel accommodation for all newly admitted students, describing the gesture as a means to ease the financial burden on parents and create a conducive atmosphere for academic concentration.
He reaffirmed that FCE (Technical) Isu remains tuition-free and is equipped with modern academic and social facilities designed to support learning in science, technology, engineering, vocational, and technical education.

The Provost also encouraged students to take full advantage of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which guarantees access to financial assistance for students in teacher-education institutions across the country.

On admissions, he disclosed that the 2025/2026 admission exercise is ongoing, adding that candidates who scored at least 100 in JAMB are eligible, while those without JAMB results may visit the admissions office to explore pre-NCE opportunities. He urged the public to promptly report any breach of admission guidelines to his office.

Prof. Okechukwu commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Maruf, the Governor of Ebonyi State, and other stakeholders for their continued support toward the growth of the young institution. He called for collective effort from both staff and students in promoting the image and development of the college.

Some of the newly admitted students — including Ogbonnia Cynthia Nkechi (Business Education Department), Igwe Collins, and Nwaobashi Kelechukwu — expressed joy at gaining admission and pledged to be exemplary ambassadors of the Institution .
