The Forum of Management Committee Members across Ebonyi State, on Friday, held a solidarity rally to express their appreciation to the state governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to good governance.

Receiving the group at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Abakaliki, the governor—represented by his Chief of Staff, Prof. Emmanuel Echiegu—reiterated his administration’s focus on delivering quality governance anchored on infrastructural expansion and human capital development.

Prof. Echiegu highlighted some of the administration’s notable achievements, including the prompt payment of workers’ salaries, clearance of pension arrears, a ₦20,000 salary increment for civil servants, and the award of thousands of scholarships to Ebonyi students both within and outside the country. He also listed several ongoing road and infrastructure projects nearing completion across the state.

He urged citizens to remain patient and supportive, assuring that the government would continue to implement policies and projects that directly benefit all Ebonyians.
Prof. Echiegu further thanked the Forum for their show of solidarity and encouraged residents to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation and Chairman of the Ebonyi State Forum of Management Committee Members, Mr. Friday Nkwuda, who represents Igbeagu Development Centre, said the rally was organized to appreciate Governor Nwifuru for his continuous support and recent approval of a 70 percent salary increase for Management Committee members.

He described the gesture as a clear reflection of the governor’s dedication to improving workers’ welfare and enhancing efficiency at the grassroots level.

According to Nkwuda, the welfare of Management Committee Members had been neglected by previous administrations until Governor Nwifuru’s intervention.
“His Excellency came to our aid when others ignored us. He reviewed our salaries upward and gave us a sense of belonging. This is why we are out today to appreciate him,” he said.

Nkwuda also commended the governor’s inclusive governance style, which he noted has fostered unity, trust, and active local participation across the state.

He pledged the Forum’s total loyalty and support for Governor Nwifuru’s re-election bid in 2027, vowing to mobilize voters across all 171 wards through intensive, house-to-house sensitization campaigns for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
