Encomiums Pour in as Collins Onyeaji Foundation Expands ‘Back to School’ Project Across Oru East

The Collins Onyeaji Foundation, a leading humanitarian organization, continues to attract widespread praise and recognition as it intensifies its Back to School Project across the South East region of Nigeria.

In line with its mission to alleviate the financial burden on parents during the school resumption period, the foundation has extended support to thousands of pupils in select public primary schools across Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State. The initiative targets over 10,000 pupils across 586 primary schools in the five South Eastern states — Imo, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, and Enugu.

Between October 21st and 24th, 2025, the foundation’s team visited several schools in Oru East LGA, including Community Primary School Umuduru Amiri, Central School Amiri, Central School Isieke Awomama, Ubachima Primary School Awomama, and Central School Ihitte Akatta.

At each of these schools, head teachers, staff, and community members expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Collins Onyeaji, founder of the Collins Onyeaji Foundation, describing him as “a beacon of hope to the downtrodden” for his unwavering commitment to education and humanity.

At Community Primary School Umuduru Amiri, Head Teacher Mrs. Okoro Scholastica lauded the foundation’s efforts, noting that the intervention has eased parents’ financial strain. She prayed for God’s continuous blessings upon the foundation and urged pupils to make the most of the opportunity by remaining diligent in their studies.

Similarly, Central School Amiri Head Teacher Mrs. Nwaghaluke Thecla expressed deep gratitude to the foundation for its timely support. She encouraged pupils to justify the foundation’s investment by maintaining focus and dedication to their education.

At Central School Awo Omamma, Head Teacher Mrs. Madu Priscilla applauded the foundation’s foresight, emphasizing that the initiative not only relieves parents but also motivates pupils to take their education seriously. She prayed for divine guidance and sustainability of the project.

In Ubachima Primary School Awo Omamma, Mrs. Akubueze Scholastica praised the quality of educational materials distributed, describing them as durable and impactful. She added that the intervention would result in financial savings for parents and an improved learning environment.

Rounding off the Oru East phase at Central School Ihitte Akatta, Mrs. Ogele Esther called on other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Collins Onyeaji’s humanitarian spirit. She noted that the project has rekindled hope for many rural pupils and reinforced the importance of quality education as a pillar for national development.

Rural dwellers who spoke with reporters during the visit applauded the foundation for its consistency and transparency. They observed that the Back to School Project is encouraging higher school enrollment and retention in public schools, particularly in rural areas where access to educational materials is limited.

They further appealed for stronger collaboration between teachers and the foundation to maximize the program’s impact while praying for continued divine protection and success for the foundation’s leadership.

Since its inception, the Collins Onyeaji Foundation has been steadfast in its mission to promote access to quality basic education across the South East. Through its Back to School Project, the foundation has distributed thousands of school bags and learning materials to pupils, reaffirming its commitment to empowering children and reducing educational inequality in rural communities.

The initiative continues to demonstrate that when education is prioritized, the future of every child — regardless of background — can be brighter and more secure.
