Onyirimba Expresses Gratitude to God Over Release of Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, Calls for Peace in Okigwe Zone
Prominent legal luminary and former Imo State governorship aspirant, Attorney Charles Chibuike Onyirimba, has expressed profound gratitude to God for the safe release of Hon. Ngozi Ogbu, a former Executive Chairman of Okigwe Local Government Area.
Hon. Ogbu, who also served as a member of the 6th Imo State House of Assembly representing Okigwe LGA, was recently abducted by yet-to-be-identified individuals. His release has sparked widespread relief and renewed calls for peace in the region.
Reacting to the development, Attorney Onyirimba described the abduction as “unfortunate and unwarranted,” stressing that Hon. Ogbu is widely respected for his integrity and selfless service to the people of Okigwe.
Onyirimba, a native of Ehime Mbano and US-based attorney, used the opportunity to appeal to those responsible for the unrest in Okigwe Zone to lay down their arms and embrace dialogue in the interest of peace, unity, and development.
He further urged the Imo State Government, led by Governor Hope Uzodimma, to intensify efforts in initiating meaningful dialogue with aggrieved groups and individuals to address the root causes of insecurity in the region.
“Peace is not just the absence of conflict but the presence of justice and understanding. We must all work together to restore harmony and confidence in our communities,” Onyirimba said.
He also advised residents of the Okigwe Senatorial Zone not to be disheartened by the current security challenges, emphasizing that resilience, unity, and community cooperation are vital in overcoming the crisis.
In his closing remarks, Onyirimba made a passionate plea for peace and stability across Okigwe Zone, calling on all stakeholders to come together to build a more secure and prosperous future for the region.
