Ebonyi: Obila Celebrate Past Leaders.

The past leaders of Ebonyi state have been extolled for laying a solid foundation upon which the present administration is standing.
The acting governor, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila was speaking at the Thanksgiving mass to mark Ebonyi state's 29th anniversary and Nigeria's independence.
Obila noted that each administration contributed positively to the growth and development of the state which would continue to benefit the citizenry.
The acting governor reassured that all the ongoing projects of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru's led administration would be completed and commissioned before the end of the year, adding that no project would be abandoned.
"Every leader that comes, comes with a very good concept. And at the end of his tenure, his name is always written in gold" She said, and also appealed to citizens to continue with their support, as their trust would not be in vain.
Describing Nigeria's 65 years of independence as a journey of liberation, she expressed optimism that the country would continue to progress under purposeful leadership.
In a homily, the Catholic Bishop of Abakaliki Dioceses, Bishop Peter Nworie Chukwu, urged leaders to lead with wisdom, humility and compassion.
He stressed on the important of helping the poor with emphasis that public offices should be use to uplift others and warned against complacency and indifference.
Using the biblical story of the rich man and Lazarus, the Bishop reminded worshippers to care for the less privilege as failure to do so is a grave omission. "The person you lift today may be the one God will use to help your children", he explained.
The Catholic Bishop while praising the past administration for their giant strides and legacies since the creation of the state, commended Governor Nwifuru for establishing the new universities that would promote science driven courses in the state for global completion.
The mass ended with special prayers for the governor, his family and members of his cabinet for God to grant them strength and wisdom to fulfill their mandate.
