Tinubu, Uzodimma Hail Eze Imo’s Leadership at 25th Coronation Anniversary

 President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State have praised the leadership qualities of the Chairman of the Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and the South East Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke, describing him as a critical asset to both Imo State and the nation.

The accolades were delivered during the celebration of Eze Okeke’s 25th anniversary on the throne as the traditional ruler of Amaifeke in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State. The event was held on Saturday at the Eze Imo Palace, Mbari Close, Ikenegbu Layout, Owerri.

President Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Dave Umahi, commended Eze Okeke for his pivotal role in fostering collaboration between the traditional institution and the Imo State government in the fight against crime.

“Eze Okeke is not only a pillar of traditional authority in Imo but a bridge-builder and peacemaker whose partnership with Governor Uzodimma has contributed to enhanced security and development,” said Umahi. He also reaffirmed the federal government’s commitment to the South East region, describing it as a vital stakeholder in the Tinubu administration.

“President Tinubu respects and values the South East,” Umahi said. “He is committed to delivering democratic dividends through massive infrastructural projects across the country, including this region.”

Governor Uzodimma, in his remarks, described Eze Okeke as a man of “courage, wisdom, and diplomacy,” whose reign has brought dignity and advancement to traditional leadership in the region.

“You have carried yourself with humility and integrity, embodying the finest traditions of leadership,” Uzodimma said. “Under your wise counsel, Imo State and the South East have benefited immensely, and for that, we remain grateful.”

Chairman of the occasion and Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi), thanked God for preserving Eze Okeke through his 25 years on the throne and prayed for strength as he continues to serve.

In his welcome address, Eze Okeke offered prayers for President Tinubu and praised him for showing love to Imo State and the wider South East. He also expressed gratitude to Governor Uzodimma and the people of the region for the overwhelming support shown to him during the silver jubilee celebration.

The event featured the cutting of an anniversary cake, moderated by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barrister Nnamdi Anyaehie.

Dignitaries in attendance included the representative of Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Prince Uzor Nwachukwu (Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs), Deputy Governor of Imo State Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Communication and Community Engagement Mrs. Chioma Nwaeze, and members of the Imo State Executive Council led by Secretary to the State Government, Chief Cosmos Iwu.

Also present were local government chairmen and councillors, traditional rulers from across the South East, including HRM Eze Dr. Okwudili Divine Nwandu, the Akaraka III of Ihitteafoukwu in Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, and several stakeholders and friends of the celebrant.
