Ahead of 2027 General Elections: G27 Victory Movement Rallies Behind Credible Candidates
By Kelechi Ugo
As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections, a prominent socio-political group, G27 Victory Movement, has pledged to support only candidates of proven integrity and character. This resolution was the highlight of the group’s recent stakeholders’ meeting held in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The G27 Victory Movement, which has been active for over 15 years with members spread across the 36 states of the federation, declared that the forthcoming elections will not be “business as usual.” According to the group, mechanisms are already in place to prevent the electoral process from being hijacked by desperate and unscrupulous politicians.
Speaking at the event, the National Coordinator of the group, Hon. Victor Nwachukwu, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of members, reaffirming the group’s commitment to political transparency and good governance.
He recounted the group’s role in past electoral successes, particularly in Imo State, and assured stakeholders of an even more vigorous mobilization effort ahead of 2027 — from State Houses of Assembly to the Presidency.
“We are not affiliated with any political party. Our only interest is in candidates with impeccable character,” Hon. Nwachukwu said.
“We are inviting all aspiring political leaders to present their manifestos to us for thorough scrutiny. Our strength lies in our numbers, and we will use that strength to ensure credible leadership, especially in producing the next governor of Imo State.”
He also stressed that the group is self-funded and open to collaboration with any political party that shares its vision of quality leadership.
The meeting also featured the appointment of new zonal coordinators for the three senatorial districts of Imo State, as well as a new National Media Director. The appointments are as follows:
- Chief Sabinus Osuji – Orlu Zonal Coordinator
- Hon. Kanayo Stanley Igwe – Owerri Zonal Coordinator
- Hon. Theodore Ekwenno – Okigwe Zonal Coordinator
- Comrade Kelechi Ugo – National Media Director
These appointments are part of the group’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence and effectively monitor political developments in all geopolitical zones.
With renewed vigor and a clear agenda, G27 Victory Movement has positioned itself as a non-partisan but influential force in Nigeria’s political landscape — determined to champion leaders who will truly serve the people.
