Oguta Legislative Council Passes Vote of Confidence on Executive Chairman Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani.

The Legislative Council of Oguta Local Government Area has unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani, in recognition of his remarkable leadership, developmental strides, and inclusive governance approach.
In a resolution signed by all eleven councillors of the Legislative Council, the lawmakers commended Hon. Nnani for what they described as his “exceptional commitment, effective, efficient, and inclusive leadership.” They praised his administration’s achievements, which they noted have positively impacted governance and development in Oguta LGA within a short span of time.
According to the Legislative Council, the Executive Chairman has demonstrated “lucid and verifiable” leadership through numerous projects and initiatives aimed at transforming Oguta. Among the projects highlighted are:
- Comprehensive renovation and modern equipping of the Legislative Chamber and councillors' offices.
- Ongoing construction of a perimeter fence around the Oguta LGA Secretariat for enhanced security.
- Evacuation of long-standing refuse dump sites in Oguta Ameshi.
- Installation of solar-powered lights within the Council premises.
- Creation of drainage systems to prevent flooding in the Secretariat area.
- Regular maintenance of a clean and green environment for staff and visitors.
- Humanitarian support including payment of medical bills for victims of banditry in Agwa.
- Peaceful resolution of communal leadership disputes across autonomous communities.
- Formation of community-based vigilante groups to enhance local security.
- Sponsorship of free healthcare services, especially for children and nursing mothers.
- Distribution of medicated eyeglasses to residents.
- Grading of community access roads during the 2024 festive season to improve mobility.
The Council further acknowledged Hon. Nnani’s success in fostering a harmonious working relationship between the Executive, Legislature, and Management staff, describing it as “a symbiotic and synergic coexistence.”
Leader of the Council, Rt. Hon. Ugochukwu Ifeoma Mercy, speaking on behalf of the councillors, declared:
“We, the members of the Oguta Local Government Legislative Council, conscientiously declare our unalloyed confidence in the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnani. We pledge our unwavering support and urge all leaders and stakeholders to rally behind him as he continues his transformative agenda.”
The vote of confidence was also endorsed by Deputy Leader Hon. Ufere-Okorie Arinze; Majority Leader Hon. Okoroi Christian Ogbonnaya; Chief Whip Hon. MacDonald Chukwudi Okafor; and members Hon. Ekine Ignatius Okechukwu, Hon. Olekamma Frank Emeka, Hon. Ogbonna Felix Udo, Hon. Usman David Nwauwa, Hon. Emmanuel Emeka Udom, Hon. Mrs. Stellamaris Ifejirika, and Hon. Awuzie Solomon Ikechukwu.
The resolution is seen as a strong political endorsement for the Chairman’s administration and a clear sign of unity and direction for the future development of Oguta LGA.
