Imo 2027 Governorship: Mbaike Consultative Forum Endorses Dr. Chima Amadi
...As TMO Describes Him as Imo’s Redeemer

In a significant political development ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Imo State, the Mbaike Consultative Assembly, in collaboration with the Coalition of Mbaitoli Progressive Leaders—representing all 63 autonomous communities in Mbaike—has officially endorsed Dr. Chima Amadi as their preferred candidate to lead the state.
The endorsement was made during a high-profile gathering held in Owerri on Sunday, which brought together members of the Mbaike political bloc and key figures from The Mazi Organization (TMO).
Ambassador Steve Nnadi, National President of the Consultative Assembly and Coalition, highlighted the group’s commitment to a thorough, non-partisan evaluation of all aspirants from Imo’s three senatorial zones. He stated that Dr. Chima Amadi emerged as the most competent, visionary, and credible candidate to redirect Imo State from what he described as “years of decline and disillusionment.”
“After a meticulous and unbiased review of all contenders, we found Mazi Chima Matthew Amadi, PhD, eminently qualified to rescue Imo State from its current socio-political and economic challenges. He stands as our best hope for meaningful change through the ballot in 2027,” Nnadi declared.
The group also announced its full integration into The Mazi Organization (TMO), signaling a unified front in the effort to support Dr. Amadi's governorship ambition. The coalition expressed regret over what it described as decades of stagnation and misgovernance that have plagued Imo State across successive administrations.
“From Chief Achike Udenwa to Senator Hope Uzodimma, Imo has experienced a pattern of underperformance, lost opportunities, and unmet potential,” Nnadi added.
Also speaking at the event, Chief Henry Onwukwe (Apiti), Director General of TMO, hailed Dr. Amadi as the leader Imo needs to chart a new course. He described him as intellectually sound, financially stable, and socially grounded—traits he believes are essential for effective governance.
“Dr. Chima Amadi is not just another politician. He is a visionary who has positively impacted many lives and possesses the leadership acumen to restore the lost glory of Imo,” Onwukwe said.
Onwukwe criticized the persistent mismanagement of the state’s resources, highlighting the disconnect between abundant federal allocations and the reality of widespread poverty and infrastructural decay.
“It is deeply troubling that despite significant federal allocations and internally generated revenue, Imo continues to grapple with poverty, hunger, and systemic decay. We need a leader who can turn these resources into tangible development, and that leader is Dr. Amadi,” he stressed.
He further urged the youth and political stakeholders in Imo to rise above sentiment and rally behind Amadi’s vision for a better state.
“Imo’s future depends on courageous and forward-thinking leadership. Dr. Amadi believes in the youth, in the promise of our people, and in building a thriving economy. It’s time we make that belief a reality.”
With the endorsement from Mbaike, a stronghold with 63 autonomous communities and 24 INEC wards, Dr. Chima Amadi’s gubernatorial ambition has gained significant momentum. As the 2027 election approaches, political observers will be watching closely to see how this alliance reshapes the power dynamics in Imo State.
