The men and officers of the Nigerian Forest Security Services (N.F.S.S), Ikwo Division, under the leadership of Commander Mgbebu Felix, the Divisional Forest Officer (D.F.O), on Saturday, May 9, 2026, paid a solemn and respectful visit to Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State to honour one of their dedicated members, Mr. Nwanchor Joseph N. (ASHI II), during the burial ceremony of his beloved mother, Late Mrs. Blessing Mbam Mgbebu.
The presence of the security personnel at the event demonstrated the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and solidarity that exists within the Nigerian Forest Security Services. The officers accompanied their colleague and stood by him and his family during the emotional moment as friends, relatives, well-wishers, and community members gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased matriarch.
Late Mrs. Blessing Mbam Mgbebu was laid to rest at her husband’s compound in Ohatekwe Amagu, amidst prayers, tributes, and heartfelt expressions of love from family members and sympathizers. The burial ceremony attracted dignitaries from different walks of life, including traditional leaders, religious figures, community stakeholders, and security personnel.
Speaking during the occasion, Commander Mgbebu Felix described the late Mrs. Blessing Mbam Mgbebu as a woman of virtue who lived a life worthy of emulation. He encouraged the bereaved family to remain strong and take solace in the impactful life she lived.
He further stated that the Nigerian Forest Security Services remains not only a security institution but also a family that stands together in moments of joy and sorrow. According to him, the attendance of officers and men of the Ikwo Division at the burial ceremony was a demonstration of their commitment to supporting one another beyond official duties.
Family members expressed gratitude to the leadership and officers of the N.F.S.S Ikwo Division for their show of compassion, moral support, and solidarity during the period of mourning.
The burial ceremony ended peacefully with prayers for the peaceful repose of the soul of Late Mrs. Blessing Mbam Mgbebu and safe journeys for all attendees.
