The headquarters of Local Government Area in Umuneke came alive on Thursday as Ward Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors were formally inaugurated in a well-attended political gathering marked by enthusiasm and strong party solidarity.

The event drew key stakeholders of the (APC), community leaders, and supporters from across the LGA, underscoring growing grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Special Guest of Honour and Imo State Director of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah, expressed satisfaction with the large turnout and described Ngor Okpala as a stronghold of progressive politics. He commended party faithful for their loyalty to the APC and the Renewed Hope initiative and directed the LGA Coordinator, Hon. Chief Chidi Sylvester Ekeh, to proceed with the formal inauguration of the ward officials.

In his inaugural address, Hon. Ekeh described the ceremony as “a renewed call to service,” emphasizing that ward executives represent the engine room of the movement. He charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to intensify grassroots engagement and effectively communicate the vision of President under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the coordinators will play a critical role in spreading the message of hope, progress, and national development across communities in Ngor Okpala.

Hon. Obinna Egu, PhD, member representing Ngor Okpala State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, noted that the gathering also signaled early strategic preparations for 2027. He commended President Tinubu’s economic management efforts and lauded Governor for appointing Opiah to coordinate the Renewed Hope Ambassadors initiative in the state.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Rt. Hon. Bede Uchenna Ekeh, urged the ward coordinators to return to their communities and strengthen support for the APC. He called on party members to remain focused and undistracted by opposition movements, expressing confidence in future electoral victories.

Community leader Okenze Dr. S.I. Obinna stressed the importance of unity, warning that political disunity weakens collective progress. He assured the state leadership of Ngor Okpala’s readiness to deliver strong electoral support in upcoming polls.

The Executive Chairman of Ngor Okpala LGA, Hon. High Chief Mrs. Chika Ibekwe, appreciated Opiah’s presence and reaffirmed the council’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the leadership of Governor Uzodimma. She highlighted ongoing infrastructural development in the area, particularly the construction of the Ihitte/Umukabia/Umuneke road, as evidence of responsive governance.

Following the inauguration, Rt. Hon. Opiah and his entourage paid courtesy visits to prominent stakeholders in the area, including Okenze Dr. S.I. Obinna and Dr. Chijioke Kaduru, before departing the LGA.

The event concluded with renewed pledges from party leaders and ward coordinators to consolidate grassroots structures and deepen support for the Renewed Hope vision across Ngor Okpala.
