 Imo @ 50: Eze Uzegbu Lauds Senator Hope Uzodinma, Reaffirms Commitment to Youth Empowerment and Security



The Traditional Ruler of Ofekata Orodo in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Engr. Marcel Iheanacho Uzegbu,JP (Okata II of Ofekata Ancient Kingdom), has congratulated Governor Hope Uzodimma on the successful celebration of Imo State’s 50th anniversary, describing him as “a divine gift” to the people of the state.


Eze Uzegbu, who also serves as Secretary of the Owerri Zone Council of Traditional Rulers, made the remarks while addressing journalists at his palace on Thursday, February 12, 2026.




The monarch commended Governor Uzodimma for what he termed remarkable infrastructural strides across the state, particularly in road construction and urban renewal initiatives. He singled out the Control Post Flyover as a landmark project symbolizing the administration’s commitment to development.


He noted that the people of Ofekata Orodo remain peaceful, hospitable, and unwavering in their support for the governor’s Shared Prosperity Administration. According to him, the community strongly believes in the vision and leadership direction of the 3R Government.


Eze Uzegbu also congratulated the governor on his recognition as New Telegraph’s “Man of the Year,” an honour scheduled to be conferred in Lagos on Friday, February 13, 2026. He described the award as well-deserved and a testament to the governor’s dedication to governance and infrastructure development.


Highlighting efforts within his domain, the first-class monarch disclosed that scholarships have been awarded to youths in Ofekata Orodo to promote education and academic excellence. He further revealed that the community’s Comprehensive Secondary School recently secured full accreditation through the collective efforts of stakeholders.


In addition, he said prominent sons and daughters of the community have pledged support to ensure that youths interested in acquiring vocational skills are provided with the necessary opportunities. Several development projects, he added, are currently ongoing within the community.


Advising young people, Eze Uzegbu urged them to remain creative, stay away from crime and illegal activities, focused, and committed to the growth and progress of Ofekata Orodo. He reassured residents and indigenes of sustained efforts to safeguard lives and property, emphasizing that security remains a top priority under his leadership.
