Egbema Youths Celebrate Return of Contractor to Avu–Adapalm–Etekwuru Road Project

There was jubilation across Egbema communities following the official return of Chief Tony Chukwu’s construction company to the Avu–Adapalm–Etekwuru Road project site.

The development comes after sustained advocacy by Egbema youths, who recently organized their 22nd support walk to draw attention to the importance of completing the Road. Their peaceful demonstration appears to have yielded positive results, as the Imo State Government directed the contractor to resume work on the long-anticipated project.

The movement, spearheaded by youth leader and patron, Prince Francis Uzor (popularly known as AguNwa), has been widely credited for keeping the issue at the forefront of public discourse. The youths’ resilience, unity, and determination have been described as instrumental in prompting swift government action.

Speaking on the development, community stakeholders expressed renewed hope that the project would now progress steadily to completion, noting that the Avu–Adapalm–Etekwuru Road is critical to economic activities, transportation, and overall development within the area.

Commendation has also been extended to the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for responding to the concerns raised by the youths and facilitating the contractor’s return to site.

Observers say the episode underscores the power of constructive civic engagement and collaboration between government and the people in driving development.

With work now resumed, residents are optimistic that the Road project will soon be completed, further boosting growth and connectivity in Egbema and its environs.
