The Imo State chapter of the Professional Photographers and Videographers Association of Nigeria (ISPPAN) today joined the global community to celebrate World Photography Day 2025, with a colourful event held in Owerri. The theme of this year’s celebration, “My Favorite Photo”, encouraged participants to reflect on their most treasured images—those that tell deeply personal stories, evoke emotions, and preserve timeless memories.

Delivering his address at the event, Comrade Onyeahialam Chibueze, Chairman of ISPPAN and CEO of T. Lovers Multimedia, highlighted the strides the association has made under his leadership. He described ISPPAN as a rising force in Nigeria’s creative industry, emphasizing its transformation into a highly respected professional body in a relatively short time.

“Under my leadership, ISPPAN has achieved remarkable milestones,” he noted. “From securing CAC incorporation to launching the ISPPAN annual magazine, professional ID cards for members, and hosting World Photography Day consistently since 2022—we have grown in leaps and bounds.”

He also cited the association's strong commitment to member welfare and corporate social responsibility, including:

Annual charity raffles and support for less-privileged individuals

Solidarity with sick and bereaved members

Establishing a permanent secretariat to enhance communication and coordination

Comrade Onyeahialam proudly announced ISPPAN’s expanding partnerships with key national agencies, including the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), and most recently, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

“We are honoured to have CN Ohida Adamu Ibrahim, Commander of the NDLEA Imo State Command, as our Special Guest of Honour at today’s event,” he said, commending the agency’s efforts in fighting substance abuse and creating a safer society.

He further applauded the Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, for providing a conducive environment for creative businesses to thrive, as well as Barr. Jerry Egemba, Commissioner for Tourism, Hospitality and Culture, for his continuous support to the industry.

The chairman also extended heartfelt appreciation to ISPPAN partners and sponsors, including:

Osicon Homes & Development Company

Ridex Logistics & Delivery

Ndigo Photo Lab

Photo Speed Lab Lagos

Magnetic Photo Lab

ED Williams Photo Lab Owerri

Bendllass Photo Lab

KSS Lab

Blessed Chizoba

Chibesco Studios, among others.

As the event unfolded, participants showcased and shared their favorite photographs, bringing the theme to life through stories of inspiration, creativity, and personal impact.

Comrade Onyeahialam closed his address with a call to photographers and videographers across the state and country to continue using their lenses as tools for storytelling, advocacy, and transformation.

“The camera lens has become a powerful vehicle for promoting media, business, and photojournalism—not just in Imo, but across Nigeria,” he concluded.
