Former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, on Monday paid a surprise visit to Hon. Chinedu Ogah, member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, describing him as “a worthy son and political ambassador.”

Elechi, visibly delighted during the visit, praised Ogah for delivering quality representation, not just to his constituency but to Ebonyi as a whole. “You have made me proud. Remain a good ambassador of the people, and let service always guide your politics,” the elder statesman said.

The former governor was also seen in high spirits as he played with Ogah’s first son, Master Martin Chinedu Ogah, who was named after him in recognition of their long political and personal bond.

Responding, Ogah thanked Elechi for being his lifelong political mentor, recalling their time together in government. “Working with you was like attending a political university. You taught me that politics is service, not a do-or-die affair,” he said.

He noted that Elechi’s “paternal blessing” has guided him throughout his political career. “Your words and example remain a compass for me. I will never forget the values you instilled in me,” he added.

Ogah assured the former governor and his people of continued quality representation. “I will keep representing not just my constituency but the entire Ebonyi with dedication and integrity,” he pledged.

The lawmaker also preached peace across Ebonyi’s disputed communities, stressing that progress depends on unity. “Our people must embrace dialogue and tolerance. Without peace, there can be no development,” Ogah declared.

He reiterated that youth empowerment, women's inclusion, and rural development remain his top priorities. “My mission is clear lifting the grassroots, empowering our people, and leaving a legacy of service,” he concluded.
